We at 2nd Call have designed a 16 week curriculum in behavior modification & social development for our clients of our Impact Sessions. Below are the topics that will be covered and a brief group agenda.
• Dysfunctional Families
• Low Self-Esteem
• Depression & the effects on men
• How to Deal with Emotions
• Behaviors & Routines
• Anger Management
• The Goal Setting Process
• Responsibilities
• Priorities
• Effective Communication
• Job Readiness & Job Retention
We at 2nd Call work a consistent effort of reducing violence by any means necessary. Our main objective is to break up the dysfunctional mindset and the negative learned behaviors. We have a career development technique of assisting individuals thru the childhood conditioning that haven’t allowed individuals the opportunity to develop or grow beyond their immediate family, community or their own fears of success.
We begin by introducing all of our participants to the 2nd Call dysfunctional family impact sessions, where knowledge is shared through experience and understanding. Our vision of the impact sessions is to overcome the walls of rejection that were often constructed by ourselves, and to learn and understand the responsibilities and obligations of having a career.
We continue this process for the remaining weeks involved including all the topics listed above, allowing for dialog and experience to educate. We encourage all participants to openly share feelings and experiences and ensure the emotional safety of all those who do. With this process 2nd Call will be able to assist individuals with the transition of re-entry into society and some of the challenges that might occur.
2nd Call has a facilitation team of individuals from the I.B.E.W. (local 11 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), a superintendant from the local Carpenters Union and a young lady from the Tapers Union. We are not however interested in creating better employees, our focus is on helping each other become a better person.
